The de Ferrers Academy

The de Ferrers Academy is a part of The de Ferrers Trust. We are a Multi Academy Trust currently based in Staffordshire and Derbyshire. We consist of 3 Secondary Academies and 4 Primary Academies.

Following on from 10 years as a specialist Technology College, de Ferrers became an Academy in January 2011. It has grown into a large, split-site, co-educational institution catering for the full range of students from ages 11-18. In 2015 de Ferrers became the first school of The de Ferrers Trust (a Multi Academy Trust).

Our vision is to ensure that all the children and young people in our care have the opportunity to fulfil their potential through achieving highly, regardless of their ability or background.

The Candidate

We are seeking two compassionate and dedicated Key Stage Learning Mentors who are committed to fostering an inclusive educational environment. If you have experience in education or youth work and a deep understanding of the challenges students face, this role is perfect for you. Your talent for building trusting relationships with students, parents, and staff will be essential in making a meaningful impact.

You will possess excellent interpersonal skills and be skilled in developing and implementing tailored intervention strategies to support individual student needs. A genuine commitment to improving student well-being and promoting positive learning experiences is crucial, along with the ability to provide emotional support and guidance.

Strong organisational skills are necessary for maintaining accurate records and monitoring student performance. You will be proactive in identifying needs and resilient in facing challenges, ensuring that all students, including those with specific requirements, receive the support they need to reach their full potential. If you are passionate about making a difference in students' lives, we would like to hear from you!
