The de Ferrers Academy

The de Ferrers Academy is a part of The de Ferrers Trust. We are a Multi Academy Trust currently based in Staffordshire and Derbyshire. We consist of 3 Secondary Academies and 4 Primary Academies.

Following on from 10 years as a specialist Technology College, de Ferrers became an Academy in January 2011. It has grown into a large, split-site, co-educational institution catering for the full range of students from ages 11-18. In 2015 de Ferrers became the first school of The de Ferrers Trust (a Multi Academy Trust).

Our vision is to ensure that all the children and young people in our care have the opportunity to fulfil their potential through achieving highly, regardless of their ability or background.

The Candidate

We are looking for a highly organised and proactive Academy Business Officer to join our operations team. You will have a strong background in administrative roles, with experience in managing confidential data and financial administration. Your skills in supporting the Principal and the Academy Leadership Team by preparing reports, managing diaries, and coordinating meetings will be crucial for the smooth running of our operations.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as you will liaise with staff, parents, and external auditors. You should be adept at maintaining compliance by regularly reviewing and maintaining the school website. Your attention to detail will be vital for tasks such as managing time-off requests and taking minutes during leadership meetings, ensuring all actions are documented and followed up promptly.

A solid understanding of financial administration is key, particularly in managing our cashless system and addressing debt collection. Your ability to handle sensitive information with discretion, along with your proactive approach to problem-solving, will help maintain the integrity of our student and staff records.
